Renesas electronics uses RZ/N microprocessor to speed up industrial network application development. |
Time: 2018-06-20 |
TSE:6723, the world's leading semiconductor solution provider, is today announcing the introduction of a new RZ/N series of industrial network communication microprocessors (MPU) to simplify network based application development. The RZ/N series is very suitable for industrial network devices, such as network switches, gateways, programmable logic controllers (PLC), operation terminals and remote I/O units.
RZ/N combines a variety of industrial network technologies in a single chip to enable system manufacturers to develop systems that support a variety of industrial network protocols and network redundancy protocols in a shorter time. Reesa also provides rich ecosystem support to promote the software development of system manufacturers by providing the universal application programming interface (API). The application programming interface (API), in addition to the compiler and operating system environment, also provides a network protocol stack for the leading reesa partner of the industry. For unified support. The RZ/N series includes three extensible product groups: RZ/N1D groups for high-end applications, RZ/N1S groups for middle end applications, and RZ/N1L groups for low-end applications.
With the increasing efficiency of industrial 4 network connection, people increasingly need network devices to support real-time processing, protocol gateway functions, protected network functions and industrial network protocols that support network redundancy protocols to ensure high reliable and efficient communication.
Due to factors such as time constraints and network control techniques, the existing plant network is composed of a field network that realizes communication between control devices and other devices, and a control network that realizes communication between control devices and other control devices. Live networks require real-time control and use real time industrial network protocols such as EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, ETHERNETPowerlink, PROFINET, Sercos, and CANopen. In contrast, network redundancy protocols, such as fast spanning tree protocol (RSTP), parallel redundancy protocol (PRP) and high availability seamless Redundancy Protocol (HSR), are used to prioritize reliability control networks.
So far, there has been little progress in the unification of these two types of networks, which means that it is necessary to use components that support one or another available protocol when developing network devices.
The new RZ/N series is developed for this kind of situation. As a single chip solution, this series will greatly simplify the development of industrial network equipment by providing support for real-time network protocol and control network redundancy protocol.
